NEW DELHI, INDIA
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the MILESTONE organization, in collaboration with Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, organized a community painting competition and an awareness rally on March 8, 2026, at Gole Market, New Delhi.
The event aimed to engage the local community in promoting women’s rights, health awareness, and social empowerment. More than 120 children and youth enthusiastically participated in the painting competition, creating artworks dedicated to the inspiring women in their lives and highlighting the importance of gender equality.
Following the competition, participants, volunteers, and community members joined an awareness rally through the Gole Market area. The rally focused on spreading messages about women’s empowerment, equal rights, and the need for accessible healthcare for women.
The initiative was further strengthened by the presence and support of local community leaders and institutional partners who encouraged participants and emphasized the importance of collective action in promoting gender equality.
As part of the outreach effort, the organizers also distributed sanitary pads to all participating women, reinforcing the message of menstrual health awareness and dignity.
